Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary - Cardiothoracic Theatre

About the role

To deliver safe, basic nursing care according to the Scope of Practice in the Cardiothoracic Theatre at Mediclinic Vergelegen.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver basic nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting in creating a therapeutic environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charted.

Required profile

• Higher certificate in nursing (or equivalent).
• Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses for specific speciality areas (desired).
• No minimum experience required; 1 year post‑qualification experience preferred.

Required skills

• Infection prevention and control.
• Basic Life Support.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
• Knowledge of regulations regarding the Scope of Practice for Nurses and Midwives.
• Familiarity with relevant nursing legislation and scientific nursing process.
• Risk identification and patient observation skills.
