Enrolled Nurse – Theatre Specialist

About the role

The Life Brooklyn Day Hospital is seeking an Enrolled Nurse specialised in theatre care. Reporting to the Nursing Standards Manager, you will help deliver high‑quality patient care in line with company standards and health legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in quality programmes, complete monthly evaluator cards and attend ward meetings to ensure compliance with QMS audit standards.
• Apply infection‑control procedures and PPE standards, and follow safety measures throughout surgical and diagnostic activities.
• Maintain accurate stock administration, report patient discharges or transfers, and ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment.
• Provide direct patient care – hygiene, comfort, safety, fluid intake monitoring and support for surgical procedures according to the nursing care plan.
• Work flexible shifts, minimise personal absenteeism and assist other departments when needed.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers and support orientation of new staff.

Required profile

• Qualified Enrolled Nurse with registration on the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and experience in theatre settings.
• Ability to work shift patterns required by the hospital and understanding of the private healthcare environment.
• Competencies such as problem‑solving, resilience, effective communication, ethical behaviour and customer responsiveness.
