Enrolled Nurse – Theatre Recovery Unit

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse will work in the Theatre Recovery Unit at Netcare Jakaranda Hospital, providing direct and indirect nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role focuses on patient assessment, care planning, and ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment for post‑operative patients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the recovery unit.
• Assess patient needs and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions.
• Manage medication, stock, and medical waste in accordance with hospital policies.
• Ensure proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of equipment; report repairs as needed.
• Supervise Enrolled Nursing Assistants (ENAs) and support their activities.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to safety and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Registered Enrolled Nurse qualification with South African Nursing Council registration.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality patient care.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
