Enrolled Nurse – Surgical Ward (Ward 2)

About the role

A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse in the Surgical Ward, based at Life Bayview Private Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager. The purpose of this role is to conduct nursing activities that ensure quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct duties to meet the requirements of quality patient care, ensuring compliance with SANC regulations, relevant legislation and Life Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Maintain all health, safety and infection control standards to ensure a safe patient environment.
• Effective utilization of resources and maintenance of equipment.
• Accurate record keeping and continued education of patients.
• Build effective relationships with patients, doctors and other medical personnel to ensure quality patient care.

Required profile

• Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse and registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Ability to work shifts according to the operational requirements of the hospital.
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry and its challenges (advantage).
• Computer proficiency (advantage).
