Enrolled Nurse – Surgical Ward 2

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients on Surgical Ward 2, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role involves delivering high‑quality, safe patient care while supporting the ward’s clinical and administrative processes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care according to the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice, including assessment, treatment and documentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and ensure proper stock management.
• Supervise and support Enrolled Nursing Assistants (ENAs) and assist with their training.
• Uphold infection‑prevention standards, waste‑management protocols and a safe working environment.
• Participate in ward quality‑improvement initiatives, handovers and multidisciplinary communication.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Compliance with the SANC code and relevant health‑care legislation, plus relevant nursing experience.

Required skills

• Competence in CPR and emergency response.
• Knowledge of infection‑prevention practices and standard precautions.
