Enrolled Nurse – Surgical ICU

About the role
The Enrolled Nurse provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Surgical ICU, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role involves assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and ensuring high‑quality, safe patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Ensure a therapeutic, clean and safe environment, adhering to waste‑management and occupational safety standards.
- Practice patient care within the Enrolled Nurse scope, promoting holistic wellbeing.
- Support education and training of Enrolled Nursing Assistants (ENAs).
- Report risks, equipment issues, and maintain proper stock control.
Required profile
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse or equivalent NQF 3 qualification.
- Compliance with the SANC code and relevant health‑care legislation; nursing experience is an advantage.
Required skills
- CPR competency.
- Infection prevention and control practices.
