Enrolled Nurse – ICU Specialist

About the role

A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse – ICU Specialist based in ICU 1 at the Life Eugene Marais Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager. The role involves conducting nursing activities to ensure quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct duties to meet the requirements of quality patient care, ensuring compliance with SANC regulations, relevant legislation and Life Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Maintain all health, safety and infection control standards to ensure a safe patient environment.
• Utilise resources effectively and maintain equipment in good working order.
• Accurately record patient information and nursing activities.
• Provide continued education to patients about their health conditions.
• Build effective relationships with patients, doctors and other medical personnel to ensure quality patient care.

Required profile

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
• Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse and registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Relevant experience working in an Intensive Care Unit.
• Ability to work shifts according to the operational requirements of the hospital.
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry and its challenges (advantageous).
• Computer proficiency (advantageous).
