Enrolled Nurse - Emergency Department

About the role

We are seeking an Enrolled Nurse to provide direct and indirect nursing care in the Emergency Department. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will be accountable for patient assessment, care planning and delivery, ensuring high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and manage stock and equipment.
• Ensure a safe, clean therapeutic environment, adhering to waste management and occupational safety standards.
• Deliver patient care within your scope of practice, promote health and wellbeing, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Support and supervise Enrolled Nursing Assistants and contribute to unit quality improvement programmes.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse or equivalent NQF Level 3 qualification.
• Compliance with the SANC code and relevant health‑care legislation.
• Relevant experience in nursing, preferably in an emergency or acute care setting (advantageous).

Required skills

• Competence in CPR.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and standard precautions.
