Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary – Otho Ward

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary will provide direct and indirect nursing care on the Otho Ward of Netcare Kingsway Hospital. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will support patient wellbeing, manage ward supplies and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care according to scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs and documenting observations.
• Maintain a clean, safe ward free from medico‑legal hazards and follow waste‑management protocols.
• Control and record stock, ensure proper use, cleaning and storage of equipment, and report any repair needs.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to infection‑prevention and standard precaution guidelines.
• Participate in handover meetings, report risks, and refer queries to the sister‑in‑charge.

Required profile

• Qualified Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary or equivalent nursing support qualification.
• Ability to work under direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Commitment to teamwork, professional development and maintaining competence in CPR/BLS.
• Strong attention to detail, especially in documentation and stock control.

Required skills

• CPR / BLS certification and competence.
• Infection prevention and control practices.
• Patient vital signs monitoring.
