Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary – Medical (Hospital Group)

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients within a medical ward, working under the supervision of a Registered or Enrolled Nurse. This position is based in a hospital environment and focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Practice patient care in line with the client’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Carry out unit‑related duties assigned by supervisors and attend handover sessions and unit meetings.
• Promote and maintain positive public relations with all stakeholders.
• Refer queries to the shift leader or supervisor as needed.
• Maintain a safe working environment according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Report any faulty equipment promptly.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary.
• Compliance with the SANC code for Enrolled Nursing Auxiliaries and relevant health‑care legislation.
• Completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) course from an accredited provider.
• Previous nursing experience in a medical ward.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support certification.
