Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary – Haematology

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Haematology department of Netcare uMhlanga Hospital. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will ensure safe, compassionate care while maintaining the ward’s equipment and supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care according to scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and manage patient belongings.
• Control stock, clean and store equipment, and report any repair needs.
• Uphold a therapeutic, clean and safe environment, adhering to waste‑management and occupational safety regulations.
• Apply infection‑prevention measures and standard precautions at all times.
• Participate in handover reports and communicate effectively with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Qualified Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary (or equivalent).
• Ability to work under direct/indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and maintain CPR/BLS competence.
