English & School Education Project Manager

About the role

The role involves implementing low‑complexity education projects funded by the British Council or other clients. Based in the Zambia office, the Project Manager will lead projects from start to finish, managing contracts, stakeholders and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage stakeholder communications and build strong internal and external relationships.
• Lead procurement, contract delivery and hold suppliers accountable to contractual obligations.
• Ensure compliance with British Council financial policies, monitor monthly finances and support financial planning.
• Develop and execute project management plans, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Oversee data management, monitoring, evaluation and learning processes and produce progress reports.

Required profile

• Strong programme and project management skills.
• Strong stakeholder and partnership management experience.
• Experience delivering externally funded projects or programmes.
• Direct experience of client‑funded contract pursuit and MEL oversight.
• Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and deliver high‑quality reporting.
