Engineering Manager - Remote

OfferZen is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead remote software development teams across South Africa. This senior leadership position blends strong technical expertise with people‑management skills to deliver high‑quality, scalable software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of software engineers, fostering professional growth.
• Oversee design, development, testing and deployment of applications.
• Ensure best‑practice engineering standards, clean code and scalable architecture.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and stakeholders to define requirements.
• Drive technical decisions, architectural reviews and innovation.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks to meet project timelines.
• Promote continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
• Conduct performance reviews and manage project budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of software development experience, with significant leadership or management exposure.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable and scalable code.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience with agile development methodologies is highly desirable.
