About the role

We are looking for a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Durban. The role involves designing, developing and maintaining software for embedded systems, working closely with hardware engineers to deliver high‑performance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, test and debug system software for embedded platforms.
• Analyze and optimise efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources.
• Collaborate with hardware design teams to integrate software and hardware.
• Participate in system calibration, improvement and ongoing maintenance.
• Develop software verification plans and quality‑assurance procedures.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance overall system performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong programming experience in C and/or C++.
• Deep understanding of embedded systems, real‑time operating systems and microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with software development life‑cycle methodologies.
• Effective problem‑solving abilities and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work well within cross‑functional teams.
