Embedded Software Engineer – Durban, KZN

About the role

We are seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal. The role involves developing, testing and maintaining software for embedded systems, working closely with hardware designers and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performance products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, test and debug system software for embedded platforms.
• Analyze and optimise efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources.
• Interface with hardware design and development teams.
• Participate in system calibration, improvement and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure products meet performance standards.
• Develop software verification plans and quality‑assurance procedures.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance overall system performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective teamwork skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
• In‑depth knowledge of embedded systems, real‑time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontrollers.
• Experience with software development methodologies and life‑cycle processes.
