About the role
The Transnet Freight Rail Electronics Engineering Internship is an 18‑month programme based in Braamfontein, Gauteng. It provides unemployed South African TVET graduates with practical workplace training, mentorship and exposure to real engineering operations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide practical workplace experience in electronics engineering.
- Combine classroom learning with hands‑on industry training.
- Develop technical and professional skills through mentorship.
- Support real engineering operations and collaborate with stakeholders.
Required profile
- South African citizen, aged 18‑35, currently unemployed.
- Completed theoretical training in electronics engineering at a registered TVET college.
- No prior work experience or bursary obligations.
Required skills
- Basic computer literacy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work in a team and liaise with various stakeholders.
