Electrician X3 – Electrical Section

About the role

Midvaal Local Municipality is hiring three Electricians (X3) for its Electrical Section in Meyerton, Gauteng. The role involves maintaining and expanding municipal electrical infrastructure, including high‑voltage (HV) and low‑voltage (LV) networks. The position offers a salary range of R344,064 – R398,772 per year with a total compensation package of up to R533,009.56.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise allocated personnel and ensure safe work practices.
• Assist with maintenance of electrical supply and infrastructure.
• Install new electrical connections and maintain HT/LT reticulation.
• Monitor work performance, productivity and equipment safety.
• Perform electrical repairs, maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric or N3 qualification.
• Qualified Electrician with Red Seal certification.
• Minimum five years of relevant electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Valid ORHVS and HV Operating Certificate.
• Certification to switch up to 132 kV and 11 kV.
• Experience with underground and overhead reticulation.
• Physical fitness for strenuous work and willingness to do standby and overtime.
• Advantageous: valid Wireman’s Licence and local government electrical experience.
