Electrician – Engineering Department (Cape Town)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Electrician to join our Engineering Department in Cape Town. The role involves maintaining and servicing electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and install, service, repair, and maintain existing and new equipment.
• Attend to electrical faults and breakdowns, read and update electrical drawings.
• Maintain a tidy work environment and comply with HACCP and BRC standards.
• Perform fault‑finding on single‑phase and three‑phase circuits, relay logic, DC and AC drives.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all safety regulations, including participation in safety training and toolbox talks.
• Identify potential hazards, implement corrective actions, and keep accurate maintenance logs and inspection reports.
• Provide standby support, work overtime and occasional shift work as required.

Required profile

• Matric, N3 and Electrical Trade Test.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electrical field.
• In‑depth knowledge of maintenance practices and computer literacy.
• Willingness to go the extra mile and work well as a team player.
