Electrical Graduate Internship – Energy Efficiency Programme

About the role

The Bela‑Bela Local Municipality, in partnership with the Department of Energy and Electricity, offers a 12‑month graduate internship in the Technical Services – Electrical division. The programme focuses on energy‑efficiency demand‑side management projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support the management of the energy‑efficiency project database, from concept through feasibility.
• Catalogue potential projects and track their development stages.
• Gather and analyse data for priority energy‑efficiency initiatives.
• Assist the Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management (EEDSM) programme.
• Prepare briefing reports on energy‑efficiency topics.
• Coordinate logistics for events and workshops and perform ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 plus (N3) Electrical Certificate.
• Valid South African ID.
• At least three months of related experience.
• Willingness to sign an internship/graduate programme agreement.
• Project Management Certificate is an advantage.

• Basic Microsoft Excel.

What we offer

• Stipend of R5,000 per month.
• 12‑month contract duration.
