Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy (Cape Town)

About the role

Are you an Electrical Engineer with a passion for renewable energy and innovative power solutions? Join Inpower’s Cape Town team to design and deliver solar PV systems for commercial, sectional title and industrial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring technical feasibility, optimisation and compliance with standards.
• Conduct system analysis and financial modelling to produce solar savings estimates, ROI assessments and lifecycle cost analyses.
• Engage with commercial and sectional title clients through site assessments, data gathering and design meetings.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, wiring diagrams, equipment schedules and O&M manuals.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement and operations teams to mitigate risks and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging technologies in solar, backup power and energy storage.

Required profile

• BEng, BSc or BTech in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters and energy storage solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with commercial acumen.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines and travel locally for client meetings.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and clear credit, criminal and health records.
