Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Centurion. The role focuses on designing and integrating electrical systems for medium and heavy‑duty commercial vehicles, supporting our end‑to‑end product development pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop wiring harnesses for truck chassis using 3D CAD (Siemens NX) and 2D schematic tools.
• Create vehicle electrical system layouts, 3D wiring designs, and detailed 2D harness drawings.
• Integrate electrical components and evaluate scope of work to manage project timelines.
• Prepare bills of materials and assemble representative 3D models in Unigraphics NX.
• Enter design data into the Teamcenter product data management system and ensure compliance with supplier and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in automotive or commercial‑vehicle environments.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills in English, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.

Required skills

• Siemens NX (3D CAD) – advantage.
• Mentor Graphics Vesys for schematic design – advantage.
• Unigraphics NX for 3D assemblies and BOM creation.
• Teamcenter PDM for design data management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
