E&I Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading provider of mining and mineral processing equipment, is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to join their team in the Benoni East Rand area. The role involves designing, testing, installing and commissioning electrical, control and instrumentation systems for complex industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed electrical, control and instrumentation schematics and diagrams using CAD software.
• Develop technical documentation and select appropriate components based on project requirements.
• Perform simulation and modeling to validate designs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Test, inspect and audit systems, compile test data and take corrective actions.
• Oversee installation and commissioning, troubleshoot issues and document outcomes.
• Develop and manage project plans, coordinate procurement and monitor progress.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs and provide technical support to maintenance teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical, control and instrumentation engineering within manufacturing or heavy‑industry environments.
• Strong ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate technical information clearly.
• Attention to detail in inspections, installations and documentation.
