E-commerce Specialist (Shopify, Klaviyo, Google Ads)

About the role

Our Cape Town based client is seeking a commercially‑minded E‑commerce Specialist to join a fast‑growing online retail business that is preparing to expand into the US market. This is a pivotal moment for the company, offering the chance to shape the post‑purchase experience and drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own and optimise the complete post‑purchase customer journey, including email and SMS automation.
• Build, manage and refine automated welcome, abandoned cart, post‑purchase, replenishment and win‑back campaigns.
• Develop and grow the customer subscription programme, focusing on acquisition, retention and churn reduction.
• Analyse customer cohorts, repeat‑purchase behaviour and retention trends to improve lifetime value.
• Plan and execute CRM campaigns using segmentation and campaign calendars.
• Manage Google Ads campaigns across Search, Shopping and Performance Max, handling keyword strategy, feed optimisation and budget allocation.
• Monitor and report on key metrics such as retention, LTV and ROAS.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an e‑commerce environment.
• Hands‑on expertise with Shopify and a CRM platform such as Klaviyo.
• Demonstrated success managing Google Ads campaigns.
• Strong analytical abilities with experience interpreting customer data and retention metrics.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving setting.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
