DTP Operator – Large Format Print & Signage Production

About the role

Our client, a well‑established signage and visual communication company, is looking for a DTP Operator to join the production team in Midrand, Johannesburg. The role focuses on preparing print‑ready artwork for a wide range of signage, branding and large‑format projects for commercial clients, events and exhibitions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare artwork and production‑ready files for signage, banners, vehicle graphics and promotional material.
• Produce accurate layouts using CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, ensuring colour, bleed and size specifications are met.
• Create proofs, visual mock‑ups and coordinate client approvals.
• Select appropriate substrates (vinyl, acrylic, PVC, aluminium, fabric, etc.) and manage material specifications.
• Coordinate print production schedules, monitor print quality and support the fabrication, installation and project‑management teams.
• Assist with job planning, workflow management and stock control of print media and consumables.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on printers and report technical issues.
• Maintain production records, provide progress updates and ensure compliance with health & safety standards.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or proven experience in DTP, graphic design, print production or signage.
• Previous experience in signage, branding, large‑format printing, exhibition or visual communications.
• Advanced proficiency with CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
