Distribution & Planning Lead (Limpopo)

About the role

The Distribution & Planning Lead will oversee the daily distribution of 200,000 loaves to 6,000 customers across Limpopo, balancing demand from two manufacturing facilities. The role ensures product availability, customer service excellence, and profitability while maintaining fleet safety.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise delivery routes for cost‑effective, on‑time transportation.
• Manage vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and fleet utilisation.
• Monitor inventory levels to meet delivery demand and prevent stockouts.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, food safety and environmental regulations.
• Control the distribution budget, including transport, labour and warehouse costs.
• Lead and develop the distribution team, set performance goals and oversee training.
• Implement warehouse and transport management systems to streamline operations.
• Coordinate daily with sales and operations teams to align supply with demand.
• Prioritise distribution of short‑shelf‑life products and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in distribution, logistics or supply‑chain management.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale distribution operations.
• Strong understanding of fleet safety, budgeting and regulatory compliance.
