Disposal Operator – Mining Waste Transport

About the role

We are looking for a Disposal Operator to efficiently and safely transport waste material disposals at our Kathu mining site. The role ensures compliance with environmental regulations and supports sustainable practices within our iron‑ore operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support a safe and healthy work environment and adhere to housekeeping and environmental requirements.
• Conduct pre‑shift equipment inspections, record findings and report deviations to the foreman.
• Operate disposal equipment safely to complete tasks allocated by the supervisor and maintain safe work areas.
• Identify and report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Communicate problems and risks to other operators to maximise shift efficiency.
• Assist team members and operate additional mobile equipment when required.

Required profile

• Grade 12/N3 Technical qualification and relevant HME licences.
• 1–2 years of operating equipment experience in a mining environment.
• Fitness certificate and a valid Code B (light vehicle) driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of mine traffic regulations and safety standards.

• Operation of disposal and other mobile mining equipment.
• Pre‑shift inspection procedures and reporting.
• Radio communication and lock‑out protocols.
• Collision prevention and fire‑suppression system awareness.
• Loading procedures and compliance with environmental requirements.
