Director, Specialist Sales – Send

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director of Specialist Sales for its Send product to lead market strategy and business development across African countries. You will shape the regional approach, build strategic alliances, and drive the adoption of Mastercard’s transfer solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a market strategy aligned with Mastercard’s global Transfer Solutions roadmap.
• Identify and secure new investments, partnerships and alliances to expand the Send ecosystem.
• Design bespoke solutions and region‑specific product and sales strategies to increase market relevance.
• Conduct opportunity assessments, provide design specifications for product enhancements, and collaborate with product development.
• Manage the Platforms team’s day‑to‑day operations and coordinate technical and operational tasks across multiple stakeholders.
• Design the economic model for Mastercard’s Send business in African markets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Extensive experience in payment solutions, product management, sales and business development.
• Proven track record of business development and managing large commercial relationships in multiple countries.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills in an international senior‑management environment.
• Action‑oriented, results‑driven with a disciplined approach to meeting sales targets and strategic goals.
