Director of Electrical Engineering Services

About the role

The Swartland Municipality is seeking a senior leader to direct all electrical engineering services for the district. Based in Malmesbury, the role combines operational oversight, strategic planning and management of resources to ensure reliable electricity supply and infrastructure development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage electrical operations, maintenance and construction across multiple towns.
• Lead electrical design and planning, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Oversee information, communication and technology management for the department.
• Provide strategic, financial and human‑resource management to support municipal objectives.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Electrical Engineering (NQF 8) and eligibility for ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer or Technologist.
• At least seven years of relevant experience, including a minimum of two years in senior management or programme/project management.
• Valid Government Certificate of Competency and a Code B driver’s licence.
• South African citizenship and own transport.
