Director of A Re Yeng Operations

About the role

The Director of A Re Yeng Operations will provide strategic leadership for the integrated rapid public transport network of the City of Tshwane. This senior role is responsible for overseeing the rollout and management of TRT services, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with council performance criteria while controlling all operational aspects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic operational leadership to A Re Yeng operations, guiding the implementation of the integrated rapid public transport network.
• Manage the human resources of the A Re Yeng Operations Section, including recruitment, development and performance management.
• Manage the finances of the A Re Yeng Operations Section, ensuring budgetary control and financial reporting.
• Oversee the continued rollout of TRT services across the network, coordinating with stakeholders to meet service targets.
• Ensure compliance with operational and performance criteria established by the Council.
• Control all operational aspects of A Re Yeng services to maintain safety, reliability and efficiency.

Required profile

• Three‑year tertiary qualification (degree or national diploma) in Transport Engineering, Operations Management, Quality Management or a related field.
• Minimum nine years of relevant experience in passenger transport, with at least four years in a managerial position.
• Valid Code B driving licence and ability to undergo a criminal record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
