Direct Travel Consultant – Remote

About the role

We are a well‑known Destination Management Company based in Sandton, seeking an experienced Direct Travel Consultant to join our team remotely from anywhere in South Africa. The role involves professional interaction with guests and travel planners, creating bespoke safari itineraries and managing the full reservation process.

Key responsibilities

• Calm and professional interaction with guests and travel planners via phone and email.
• Creative design of itineraries and out‑of‑the‑box planning.
• Handling reservation requests through email, telephone or fax.
• Processing reservations from quotation to finalisation, including invoicing and travel documents.
• Proactive selling of products and services to ensure optimal safari experiences.
• Providing support on Saturdays, public holidays and on‑call rotation duties.
• Back‑up for colleagues and collaboration with suppliers.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of at least one of the following destinations: Tanzania, Kenya, Zanzibar, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda, Seychelles.
• Understanding of FIT and group travel policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and a good command of English.
