Digital Graphic Designer – Retail Media

About the role

Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is seeking a highly talented Digital Graphic Designer to join its Retail Media team in Cape Town. The role focuses on creating digital design assets that support retail media solutions across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design and produce digital assets for CRM mailers, in‑app animated graphics, pop‑up and display banners, video and other retail media formats.
• Stay current with emerging design technologies, trends and techniques to deliver cutting‑edge work.
• Conceptualise ideas, storyboard concepts and add motion‑graphics effects.
• Create go‑to‑market materials such as pitch decks, flyers and social media posts.
• Collaborate with design, Retail Media, broader Marketing, Retail and Promotions teams while adhering to brand guidelines and templates.
• Deliver work on time with meticulous attention to detail and incorporate feedback from senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Graphic Design.
• 3–5 years of professional graphic design experience.
• Strong self‑management and communication abilities.
• Understanding of brand design and digital/mobile design principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience with motion‑graphics tools such as Adobe After Effects.
• Basic knowledge of HTML5.
• Experience building and editing modular templates in CMS platforms (e.g., Braze, Salesforce, MailChimp, Stripo).
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and generative AI prompting is advantageous.
