About the role
Triton Truck and Trailer Mbombela (Pty) Ltd is the official Scania dealership and commercial vehicle service provider in the Lowveld region of Mpumalanga, with workshops in Nelspruit and Malelane. It is offering a permanent position as a diesel mechanic for its Triton Express workshop in Mbombela.
Key responsibilities
- Servicing and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and all commercial vehicles
- Replacing parts, engines, gearboxes, brakes and clutches
- Fault finding and diagnosing vehicles
- Repairing mechanical and electrical breakdowns and hydraulic faults
- Attending breakdowns on road sites
- Inspecting and checking vehicles
Required profile
- Grade 12 (Matric) and certified diesel mechanic trade certificate
- At least 5 years of working experience
- Experience on Volvo and Scania trucks is an advantage
- Unendorsed driver's licence and valid PDP
- Own reliable transport to and from work
- Ability to work under pressure, stand by, and unsupervised for most of the time
- Willingness to work outside normal hours when required
Required skills
- Knowledge of trailers and air systems
- Vehicle diagnostics
- Good communication, problem solving, time management and attention to detail
