DevOps Engineer – OSS Platform

About the role

The DevOps Engineer will design, implement and maintain an OSS platform architecture for our clients. You will automate deployment processes, integrate systems and continuously optimise customer environments while collaborating closely with development teams and external contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement system architecture for OSS components, ensuring integration across platforms.
• Facilitate system integration with client development teams and external vendors.
• Support pre‑launch testing, obtain sign‑off on acceptance, and provide training to client staff.
• Maintain strong relationships with FirstDMT vendors and client organisations at all levels.
• Continuously assess and optimise the customer’s environment for performance and growth.
• Compile user specifications, work with developers, develop and improve functions, and document code.
• Deploy functions to production using tools such as Git and Ansible and verify operation in test and live environments.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or BSc in Computer Science or a related field.
• Solid understanding of ISP OSS architecture and broadband technologies (Fibre, LTE/5G).
• Experience with Linux, MySQL, Python, Git and Ansible.
• Ability to work closely with internal and external development teams.
• Willingness to undergo a structured on‑the‑job training program during the first week.
