DevOps Engineer

About the role

QContact is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to own and evolve its large‑scale, latency‑sensitive communication platform. You will work remotely from anywhere in South Africa, ensuring the reliability and automation of production Kubernetes clusters and associated services.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and continuously improve multi‑region production Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Debug complex Linux, networking, and container‑related incidents.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows.
• Enhance deployment reliability and reduce operational overhead.
• Maintain and evolve CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor platform health, performance and availability.
• Provide on‑call support and proactively reduce incident frequency.
• Collaborate with developers to raise operational standards.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience with Linux system administration in production.
• Extensive experience running Kubernetes at scale.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for distributed systems, containers and networking.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and performance tuning.
• Ability to diagnose production issues under pressure.
• Permanent right to work in South Africa.
