Desktop Support Engineer

About the role

The Desktop Support Engineer will provide first‑line technical assistance to internal users, ensuring hardware and software issues are resolved quickly and efficiently. You will work within a finance‑focused environment, supporting a range of IT equipment and applications while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage internal client requests by performing standard support activities and assisting colleagues.
• Deliver hardware, software, and end‑user support for unresolved queries in line with documented procedures and service level targets.
• Follow mandatory procedures to meet quality standards and comply with external regulatory codes and internal conduct.
• Perform data‑management tasks and support colleagues with related activities.
• Enter and verify data in company systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Organise daily work schedule according to changing priorities.
• Develop and maintain technical skills through formal and informal training, assessments, and coaching.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or SAQA‑accredited equivalent (essential).
• Relevant certifications: MCSA, A+, N+, ITIL Foundation (essential).
• 2–3 years of experience in desktop support administration (essential).
