Desktop Support Engineer (Hybrid, Cape Town)

About the role

This permanent hybrid position supports macOS and Windows end‑user environments for a highly regulated banking client. You will ensure devices meet strict security standards while delivering first‑ and second‑line assistance to users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑line support for macOS and Windows desktops and laptops.
• Enforce endpoint security policies, including encryption, EDR deployment, patch management and compliance monitoring.
• Administer user access, handling onboarding and off‑boarding in line with least‑privilege principles.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support internal audits and proactively identify security risks.
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to remediate vulnerabilities.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in desktop/end‑user support, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with macOS and Windows administration and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability to apply security hardening techniques and follow compliance frameworks.
• Excellent written documentation and communication skills.
• High integrity and accountability.
