Desktop Engineer – Hybrid – Cape Town

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Desktop Engineer to join our Cape Town team. You will work on a hybrid basis, providing IT support to a variety of customers and ensuring the stability of our infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone passionate about systems engineering and eager to contribute to a fast‑moving ICT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve incidents detected by Network Operations Centre tools, proactively identifying potential failures.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on long‑term issues and implement automation to reduce repetitive incidents.
• Build capacity, stability and performance trends to support service reporting.
• Execute small projects such as version upgrades, migrations and patch management on servers and desktops.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal peers and external partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT MSP environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work under pressure.
• ITIL V3 mindset for structured incident, request and change management.
• Relevant certifications such as A+, N+, MCSA or MCSE.
