Design and Technology Teacher (Senior School)

About the role

St Charles College, an independent Christian boys school in Pietermaritzburg, is seeking a suitably qualified Senior School teacher to commence on 1 January 2024. The role involves teaching Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level English and contributing to the development of the Languages Faculty.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level English to senior school students.
• Actively participate in the development of English programmes within the Languages Faculty.

Required profile

• Professional teaching qualification (PGCE, HDE or equivalent higher education qualification).
• Master’s degree or PhD in English, linguistics or communication (advantageous).
• Minimum 10 years of teaching experience in a similar environment or tertiary institution.
• Awareness of international education trends and willingness to engage in language research and development.
• Understanding of the educational needs of boys.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with strong administrative ability.
• Commitment to the college’s Christian ethos and values.
• Willingness to accompany students on extension trips.
