Deputy Nursing Manager - Theatre

About the role

Mediclinic Sandton in Bryanston, Johannesburg is recruiting a Deputy Nursing Manager for its Theatre department. This is a permanent, on-site position supporting the Nursing Manager in leading and coordinating safe, quality patient care. Internal employees on fixed-term contracts should apply through an external candidate profile.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Nursing Manager to deliver quality patient care in line with hospital operational goals and objectives.
• Manage patient risks to achieve patient safety and specified clinical outcomes.
• Ensure a positive patient experience in line with corporate benchmarks.
• Ensure optimal use of a competent, engaged workforce and other resources in line with company guidelines.
• Lead and manage direct reports.
• Build and manage key stakeholder relationships to achieve integrated patient care and positive clinical outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in nursing and an appropriate leadership/management qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory position, such as Unit Manager.
• Desirable: discipline-specific qualification and 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a specialised unit.
