Deputy Nursing Manager - Kimberley

About the role

The Deputy Nursing Manager will support the Hospital Nursing Manager in delivering high‑quality patient care across all wards and units. Working closely with clinical and administrative teams, the role ensures the Nursing Model is implemented effectively and aligns with organisational strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing practice within legal, ethical and clinical governance frameworks.
• Drive nursing strategy and align activities with organisational goals.
• Collaborate with other departments to support quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage patient experience, health‑safety, infection control and risk management.
• Oversee nursing education, professional development and succession planning.
• Administer the nursing budget to ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality care.
• Assist with recruitment, retention and workforce planning.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Nursing with current South African Nursing Council registration (General, Psychiatric, Community Health Nurse and Midwife).
• Post‑basic qualification in Nursing Administration or equivalent; qualification in Nursing Education is advantageous.
• Minimum five years of management experience in a private hospital setting.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret financial data.
• Advanced computer literacy and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
