Deputy Director – Provincial Coordinator (KwaZulu Natal)

About the role

The Department of Military Veterans is seeking a Deputy Director to act as Provincial Coordinator for KwaZulu‑Natal. The role involves overseeing provincial offices, ensuring compliance with policies and delivering high‑quality services to military veterans.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the management and performance of all provincial offices.
• Develop, implement and monitor provincial operational plans and performance reports.
• Facilitate the establishment of fully functional provincial offices and ensure ethical standards are maintained.
• Manage the distribution of resources and oversee stakeholder relations, including the negotiation and signing of MOUs.
• Identify challenges at provincial level, propose solutions and track service provision.
• Liaise with governmental, non‑governmental and international bodies regarding veteran services.

Required profile

• Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of relevant experience at Assistant Director level, preferably in public administration.
• Strong understanding of stakeholder relations policies, inter‑governmental guidelines and government‑wide legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, make decisions and facilitate change.
