Debtors Manager – Freight & Logistics

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Debtors Manager to lead our finance team within the freight, logistics and courier sector. Based in Boksburg, you will drive debt collection, maintain cash flow and ensure excellent customer service while managing a busy debtors department.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Debtors Department and ensure collection targets are met.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of six staff members, including Debtors Clerks and administrative personnel.
• Implement and maintain effective credit control procedures and monitor customer accounts to minimise overdue balances.
• Resolve complex customer queries, account disputes and freight‑related claims.
• Produce monthly debtors reports, age‑analysis reviews and ensure accurate account reconciliations.
• Liaise with customers, branches and internal departments to settle outstanding matters.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with a finance, accounting or credit management qualification considered advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a debtors department, preferably within freight, logistics or courier environments.
• Proven leadership experience with a strong debt‑collection mindset.
• Sound knowledge of South African geography and parcel‑delivery processes.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Hands‑on experience with Parcel Perfect software.
