Debtors Clerk – Accounts Receivable

About the role

The Debtors Clerk will manage the company’s accounts receivable, ensuring accurate records and timely collection of outstanding payments. This position is essential to maintaining the financial health of DP World’s operations in Montague Gardens.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date accounts receivable records and reconcile customer accounts.
• Monitor outstanding balances, follow up on overdue invoices and negotiate payment plans.
• Contact customers by phone or email to collect payments and resolve billing disputes.
• Prepare and analyse ageing reports, collection forecasts and bad‑debt provisions.
• Document all transactions, communications and maintain organized filing systems.
• Identify and propose process improvements to enhance collection efficiency.

Required profile

• Matric certification; diploma in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a debtor’s clerk or in accounts receivable.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professional integrity when handling sensitive financial information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience using the Great Plains ERP system.
