DC Shift Supervisor

About the role

The global packaging and labelling company is looking for a DC Shift Supervisor to lead the day‑to‑day operations of its distribution centre. You will be responsible for overseeing staff, ensuring health and safety compliance, maintaining product quality, and driving continuous improvement across all operational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operational activities and ensure operational targets are met.
• Supervise dispatch operations, guaranteeing on‑time deliveries and correct labelling/packaging of finished products.
• Manage the Transport Management System (TMS) and reconcile system records with actual deliveries.
• Control inventory through cycle counts, investigate deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Handle consumables, raw‑material storage, and driver/vehicle management including licensing and maintenance.
• Drive equipment utilisation, optimise manpower deployment and identify productivity improvements.
• Maintain product quality standards, investigate non‑conformances and manage customer complaints.
• Lead 5S initiatives, promote PPE compliance and report safety incidents.
• Coach, develop and motivate operations personnel to improve technical capability and process performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising staff in a distribution centre or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Ability to analyse inventory data, manage driver fleets and oversee packaging/dispatch processes.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
