Database Administrator – Oracle (Contract, On-site, Pretoria)

About the role

Our client, a leading ICT and digital transformation partner in South Africa, is looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join on a contract basis. You will be responsible for managing Oracle databases across development, staging, and production environments, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c) on UNIX (Solaris) across the full product lifecycle.
• Monitor system health, performance tuning, partitioning, and capacity planning.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies, including RAC and Data Guard.
• Enforce security policies following Oracle best practices.
• Develop Bash scripts for automation and issue tracking.
• Manage middleware components such as WebLogic 14 and WildFly 21.
• Administer Oracle Enterprise Manager (OMS and agents).

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of Oracle DBA experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with Oracle middleware.
• Oracle 10g/12c certification.
