Data & BI Support Analyst

About the role

Join a leading provider of services and equipment to the beverage and commercial sectors as a Data & BI Support Analyst. Working closely with the BI Manager, you will transform multi‑source data into actionable business intelligence, leveraging modern AI‑assisted tools to accelerate reporting and drive smarter decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain ETL pipelines from SQL databases, Excel/CSV and other sources.
• Design, develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports, including data modelling, DAX and Power Query.
• Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, validation and KPI calculation.
• Ensure data accuracy, quality and consistency through rigorous validation checks.
• Utilise AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT to generate insights, detect trends and create executive‑ready narratives.
• Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into impactful reporting solutions.
• Apply governance best practices, including POPIA data‑privacy compliance.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in a Data Analyst or BI support role, preferably in operations or service‑based environments.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Adaptable, curious and able to thrive in a changing environment.
