Data Analyst – Internal Audit

About the role

Clicks Group is recruiting a Data Analyst for its Internal Audit Department at the Head Office in Cape Town, Western Cape. This mid‑level permanent role supports audits, investigations, risk assessments and continuous auditing through data analysis, visualisation, automation and insight generation.

Key responsibilities

• Extracting, cleansing and analysing data.
• Using SQL for audit testing and analysis.
• Performing reconciliations and exception testing.
• Identifying trends, control weaknesses and risks.
• Building dashboards and data visualisations.
• Developing automated and reusable analytics routines.
• Validating data accuracy and completeness.
• Documenting data sources, transformations and analytical results.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 2–5 years' data analytics experience.
• Strong practical SQL experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience analysing large and complex datasets.
• Understanding of data flows and data lineage.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Postgraduate qualification in a quantitative field (advantageous).
• Experience with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BI Launchpad or BusinessObjects (advantageous).
• Python, ACL, SAS or IDEA experience (advantageous).
• Internal, external or systems auditing experience (advantageous).
• Big Four experience (advantageous).
• Comfortable handling confidential data and complying with POPIA.
