Cybersecurity Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to join a UK‑based employer on a fully remote basis. The role is ideal for a South African professional who can work independently, collaborate across time zones and help protect critical systems, networks and data.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support monitoring of security systems, alerts and incident response processes.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, support penetration testing activities and perform risk analysis.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders across different time zones.
• Maintain accurate records of security incidents, audits and compliance documentation.
• Utilise SIEM platforms, endpoint protection software and threat intelligence tools.
• Assist the wider team with security awareness training and policy development.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen the organisation’s security posture and reduce risk exposure.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity analysis, IT security or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organisational abilities and capacity to manage multiple security tasks simultaneously.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• High attention to detail and a proactive problem‑solving approach.
• Experience working with UK‑based clients or employers is advantageous.
• Reliable laptop, stable internet connection and a quiet working environment.
