Customer Service Representative – Contact Center

About the role

Join EXL’s dynamic contact centre in Cape Town as a Customer Service Representative. You will be the first point of contact for policyholders, handling billing transactions, answering inquiries and providing technical support while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive inbound calls from policyholders in a fast‑paced contact‑center environment.
• Process telephone payments, account adjustments and other billing transactions accurately.
• Interpret and verify billing information and resolve both simple and complex billing queries.
• Provide technical assistance on client systems and follow up on outstanding items promptly.
• Deliver positive service experiences in line with performance metrics, quality standards and the customer‑experience program.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Up to 1 year of experience, preferably in a customer‑service or call‑centre setting.
• Post‑high‑school education preferred.
• Excellent telephone etiquette, strong communication and active listening skills.
• Patience, a positive outlook and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Commitment to complete the full training program and operate within a structured environment.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
