Customer Engineer – ATM Field Service

About the role

The Customer Engineer will join NCR Atleos' field team in South Africa, delivering on‑site installation, repair and maintenance of ATMs and related devices. You will act as the primary technical liaison for customers, ensuring equipment performance and swift issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain ATM hardware and associated peripherals across multiple vendor platforms.
• Generate and update equipment performance reports and record modifications.
• Maintain day‑to‑day customer relationships, providing status updates and escalating issues as needed.
• Diagnose problems using call information and on‑site investigation, owning issues until SLA‑based resolution.
• Process stock movements and call‑out details via the mobile application.
• Communicate status updates through electronic call notes throughout the day.
• Travel throughout South Africa to service, install and repair equipment; be available for standby shifts on weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent; National Diploma in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with ATM or similar field‑service equipment.
• Computer literate and proficient in English.
• Valid South African driving licence (Code B/8).
• Strong communication skills, self‑driven and customer‑focused.

Required skills

• CompTIA A+ certification (advantageous).
• Electrical engineering knowledge.
• ATM hardware maintenance and multi‑vendor troubleshooting.
• Computer literacy for reporting and mobile app usage.
